Raised in Miami, Florida and educated in Texas, the southern climate is a driving factor in the design and lifestyle Ian’s projects provide. The son of two architects, he found the skill-sets for creating and building at an early age. His passion of craft took off in Architecture School when he took a class project re-designing shipping containers and turned it into reality. This design+build project would change the way he thinks about architecture and has become a lifelong thesis on perfecting project delivery. Now a licensed builder and an achieved designer, the 29 year old is the centerpiece of Green Guild Studio.

Ian holds a Masters of Architecture from The University of Texas at Arlington and a bachelor degree in Business from Trinity University.

"I want to use all the resources in the world as efficiently as possible. This includes people. Good design is efficient. It allows the inhabitants to maximize productivity without wasted effort or expense. This efficiency is reflected in the construction and design process by forcing all structural members to be vital to the final product using no unnecessary members. Utilizing light, water, wind and thermal energy through orientation, careful selection of regional materials, and harvesting and conservation are methods we implement to maximize the value of a project."
